Lazio

Forget what you think you know about Frascati. Its reputation has been trashed for decades by thin, insipid and poorly made wines. But that’s all in the past. There are now 30 or small producers who are exploiting the volcanic soil and wonderful varieties that they have here, particularly Malvasia Puntinata, and making brilliant wines. Watch out for the Malvasia Puntinata Roma from Pallavicini which is excellent.
